Product Introduction

The mobile industry has seen a tremendous growth for the past 5 years especially throughout the Asian market where mobile penetration is still mostly below 50%. With two-thirds of the world concentrate in this region, we believe our SMS TV platform will see another phase of growth in terms of demand throughout TV stations regionally. With the current 9 games on our platform, we are currently in the process of developing another 18 games by the end of 2009.

Product Overview and Idea

The combination of SMS and TV has proven to be very successful in numerous of cases; however the level of interactivity with the viewer/participant is still relatively limited. Most applications in this area are either based on voting or on chatting. Forest Interactive has developed a unique platform that enables real interaction with viewers.

We believe that our formats and technology uses the synergy between TV and SMS and takes interactivity to the next level. Our formats make it possible for viewers to participate in an interactive game through SMS, where the output is shown live on TV. Most of these are part-screen formats are broadcasted as an overlay over the normal TV programming.
Our philosophy is not to develop a series of standard products that we deliver of-the-shelve, but rather use a specific channel or TV format as a starting point. Based on this format, Forest delivers an overlay that fits in exactly. Moreover, clients are able to make changes to the format, if necessary overnight, based on the feedback (volumes) that they are seeing.

Before deploying the application, Forest will determine the amount of localization involved; analyzing the audience, market demand and language of the country the broadcaster is in. We will communicate via email and online chat to determine the requirement, look and feel of the application. Based on this input we will customise our present games to make sure it fits the demand of our client.

Once an agreement is signed with Forest, our delivery would include the following:

  • Game software
  • License to use the Forest Game Engine (located in our data centre in Malaysia)
  • A server to be placed in your broadcasting system of the customer
  • All connections between components
  • Integration with local SMS Gateway
