KUALA LUMPUR: Forest Interactive has been named as the finalist in the Services Sector Award for Category 2 (domestic companies with a turnover of RM20 million to RM50 million) at the Industry Excellence Awards (AKI) 2020 for its continued commitment to and impact on innovation, community, talents, and customers.

Introduced by Malaysia’s Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI), AKI aims to recognize companies that demonstrate excellence in the following aspects:

  1. The implementation of governance that ensures employee well-being.
  2. The application of the latest technology in operations.
  3. The implementation of effective business strategies to ensure the best delivery of the company’s products and services.

Forest Interactive CEO Johary Mustapha credited the company’s milestone to his team of more than 250 key players and game-changers from several nationalities.

“As an organization that values a viable corporate culture, I’ve always believed that our talents are the most important asset of the company. We have been focusing on nurturing meaningful relationships among our talents and building a winning team by empowering them to learn and adopt new skills, working in unison towards one common goal. A company will soar upward and move forward when you have a team of united people who are willing to go the extra mile to create innovative solutions for our customers.”

AKI 2020 also marked the increasing recognition Forest Interactive continues to gain from its partnerships with and contributions to key government ministries and agencies, positioning itself at par with the nation’s industry champions.

“We are truly honored to be recognized by the ministry in this premier award. It is in Forest Interactive’s best interest to value best practices in every aspect of its workforce, services, products, and partnerships with all stakeholders across the value chain. This recognition further encourages us to better promote visionary innovation through leadership as well as overcoming adversity with diversity and inclusion in the workplace,” continued Johary.

The 27th edition of the AKI ceremony was officiated by Malaysia’s Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob last Nov 2, 2021. Senior Minister of International Trade and Industry Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali also presented the awards to 10 winners during the ceremony.

Held once every two years, this year’s AKI saw participation from 78 companies from various sectors competing for 11 category awards. The AKI 2020 entrants were evaluated by a jury panel with the Malaysia Business Excellence Framework (MBEF) being used as a benchmark for selecting the award winners.
