Despite the worldwide economic downturn due to the COVID-19 crisis, an international market research firm, Statista recognizes Forest Interactive as one of the fastest-growing companies in Malaysia.

Kuala Lumpur – Forest Interactive continues to make headlines by being ranked Top 20 for Malaysia’s Growth Champions 2020. The new ranking, compiled by Statista, was audited based on the company’s revenue growth between the years 2015-2018.

According to the data, the total revenue earned by the company in 2018 amounted up to RM24 million with total revenue growth of 39.8% and 11.8% year-over-year between 2015-2018.

“We are honoured to receive this recognition from a reputable market research firm such as Statista. It is positive news indeed, especially in times where the global economy has taken a hit from the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Forest Interactive CEO Johary Mustapha.

Johary further clarified that it is the company’s proactive approaches and resilience to challenges that make it strives during the global crisis such as today’s.

“Most of our talents from 14 countries across the world have been working from home since last month and it’s relatively hard to maintain productivity at an optimum level,” explained Johary. “We have to be adaptive to changes and learn how to be productive, even in isolation. For example, we execute work-from-home (WFH) Should Be Fun Campaign and internal Mobile Legends competition to encourage continuous interactions among our talents on top of carrying out their dedicated tasks.”

In terms of business development, Forest Interactive, among many other companies, is certainly affected due to the abrupt halt of commercial activities following the intensified movement restrictions.

“However, as a trusted partner of 50 mobile operators worldwide, we are doing our best to keep our services stable and reliable at all times, especially during the Movement Control Order (MCO). In just one month, we have seen a demand surge in tech-related fields such as telcos and e-commerce, and we are monitoring the patterns carefully while ensuring our systems to be fully operational and efficient,” he added.

Statista partner Thomas Clark believes that this recognition is a stepping stone for these companies to rise even stronger after the crisis is over.

“While most of these growth champions are also massively affected by the current near standstill of business activities, they should still take a moment and be proud of what they have contributed in recent years as accelerators of the Malaysian economy,” said Clark.

Malaysia’s Growth Champions 2020 Top 20 was published in The Star last Wednesday. The data was compiled from in-depth research conducted by Statista’s analysts together with a call for registrations made in The Star. This initiative by Statista aims to provide a platform for small and medium-sized companies with high revenue between 2015-2018 to showcase their strengths.
