Forest Interactive Receives Recognitions at PR Indonesia Awards 2021

JAKARTA — Forest Interactive receives two recognitions for PR Program (Gold Winner) under Corporate PR subcategory and Owned Media (Gold Winner) under Website subcategory at PR Indonesia Awards (PRIA) 2021 for its initiatives to boost employee morale and engagement during the pandemic, and interactive website features and impressive performance.

Despite the smooth shifts from working in the office to working remotely during the worldwide mandatory lockdown, the employee morale among Forest Interactive’s talents had decreased to a worrying level with a high employee turnover rate. In response to this, the Corporate PR Department initiated a sustainable internal employee engagement program called #BetterTogether to mitigate the risk of declining productivity and concerning mental health issues while working remotely.

“Lockdowns were implemented in all of our 17 offices globally and we had to face the dance, which was considerably unchartered territory in running our employee engagement activities,” said Sheena Pimentel, Head of Corporate PR. “For several years our greatest assets revolved around face-to-face meetings and physical events, and leading towards the next two months of staying at home showed a drastic change in the morale of the company as a whole.”

“As a community-based organization, we have paid a lot of attention and allocated budgets for morale-boosting programs to enhance team camaraderie and appreciate every effort put in keeping the business running. We rolled out three communications strategies, all of which to achieve one common goal — “We are #BetterTogether even we are physically apart.”

Forest Interactive continued to uphold the tradition of festive celebrations during the pandemic by delivering a specially crafted gift box of homemade Raya cookies, washable face masks, a sanitizer, and a personal note handwritten by Johary Mustapha, the CEO himself, to every Malaysia-based talent.

“The strategies implemented were creating a digital channel like Virtual Pantry to improve social activities and interactions, organizing activities like weekly 30-minute Product Knowledge Webinars, TikTok challenges, the after-hour Friday Kahoot! Quiz Nights, internal esports tournaments to strengthen relationships among talents who enjoy mobile gaming, sharing Spotify playlists and producing digital content like newsletters, posters, short videos to be delivered periodically, aiming at motivating employees during periods of working from home,” added Sheena.

Meanwhile, Nurfathiyah Ramle, Head of Creative & Multimedia Department, said the early phase of the pandemic was an opportunity for the company to amplify its branding through the revamp of the website.

“Like any other businesse worldwide, we faced many challenges brought about by the pandemic. As we steered through the uncertainties, we recognized that there was a need to adapt and pivot our digital branding strategies to meet ever-evolving industry demands and further solidify our brand identity.”

“We executed eight-month long website revamp process, which involved different departments. The decision to do so was right as it was one of the ways to capitalize on opportunities that some businesses may have overlooked at that time,” added Nurfathiyah.

The announcement of the 6th PRIA was livestreamed virtually on PR Indonesia’s YouTube channel yesterday. Forest Interactive was also awarded Gold Winner for Owned Media under the Website subcategory during the virtual ceremony. The award, which is in its sixth year, has received a total of 599 submissions this year for nine categories; Owned Media, Digital Channel, Crisis Management, Public Relations Good Governance Manual, Annual Report, Brand Guideline, PR Program, CSR Program, and PR Department.
