Forest Interactive Releases 2022 Sustainability Update

In previous years, the company has shared its sustainability initiatives through an annual roundup article. This is the first time the sustainability update takes on the form of a digital booklet. 

 

KUALA LUMPUR, March 7, 2023 – This year, Forest Interactive releases its inaugural sustainability update booklet, providing a look back on a year of sustainability, the initiatives achieved throughout 2022, as well as the strategies and way forward in 2023.  

The digital booklet, titled 2022: A Year of Sustainability, details the organization’s initiatives and achievements throughout the year alongside the Forest Interactive Foundation, offering data and insights on the goals and focus strategies across the company’s network of employees, partners, and communities it serves.  

The sustainability update also highlights the specific focus on sustainability pillars in close alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Forest Interactive is embarking on a collective journey to achieve the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Since 2016, Forest Interactive has partnered with Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) to fund and collaborate on initiatives such as Kre8tif!@Schools, #MyDigitalMaker Fair, LEVEL UP @ Schools, Digital Ninja, and Duta Kaunselor Kerjaya Digital (DKKD). Forest Interactive employees also volunteer as mentors to students – future innovators – all over Malaysia and Indonesia who are interested to pursue their careers in the tech industry. 

These initiatives aim to transform Malaysian youth from digital users to producers in the digital economy. This includes skills such as coding, app development, 3D printing, robotics, embedded programming, and data analytics; all of which will ultimately help to strengthen problem-solving and creativity in our future generation. 

Today, Forest Interactive’s organizational strategies and policies on Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI), and Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) run in tandem with its sustainability pillars. With the senior management team made up of more than 60% of women, Forest Interactive is invested in carrying out initiatives and programs that advance gender equality, enhance workplace safety and employee well-being, foster inclusion through an intersectional lens, and achieve 100% digital waste recovery.
