According to GSMA Intelligence, on average, consumers look to change their smartphone after 1.5 years. One of the top purchase drivers is battery life, then comes durability, security of consumer data, and many more. In this infographic, we’re showing how likely are consumers to purchase from the same brand manufacturer in Asia Pacific for these changes or upgrades.

On average, consumers in this region are 51% more likely to be loyal to their current manufacturer. The two brands that’s most likely to maintain their consumers are Apple and Nokia. However, according to Global Stats, the highest brand share in Asia by Q4 2020 was led by Samsung by 26.23% and Apple came second by 16.3%.

Even though during the ongoing pandemic worldwide smartphone sales on average saw a short-term decline, in the long run it looks like the trend is rising for smartphones that are 5G-enabled.
